One more reason to love roses

CA handed out 10,000 roses in stores around Sweden ahead of Valentine's Day to publicize the introduction of the company's own private label brand of Fairtrade roses. ICA has worked with certified rose growers for several years. But from now on ICA will purchase roses for its private label from farms in Kenya certified according to the Milieuproject Sierteelt (MPS) - a Dutch standard for environmental and working conditions. Most of their roses have been produced in line with Fairtrade requirements. Giant-Carlisle has followed suit, and has also introduced Fairtrade roses to its assortment, making these flowers even more attractive to customers.
